GREEN BOOK: 2018 JURIED EXHIBITION
SOUTHERN EXPOSURE | 3030 20TH STREET | SF | 7-9PM
Green Book is named for the Jim Crow era guidebook detailing routes of safe passage for African-American travelers. The exhibition addresses similar frictions of being a racialized body amid dwindling community, voiced by Bay Area image-makers.

FLOWER PIANO FESTIVAL
SF BOTANICAL GARDEN | GOLDEN GATE PARK | SF | FESTIVAL RUNS THROUGH MONDAY THE 16TH | FREE TO MEMBERS AND SF RESIDENTS
Sunset Piano and San Francisco Botanical Garden have partnered up to bring 12 pianos spread across the Botanical Garden for 12 days. This is the last weekend of the festival with schedule performances throughout the day. $9 for non-residents.

CALICO SUNSET - A GROUP SHOW OPENING

Calico Sunset features work by artists Ben Quinn, Brett Amory, Caleb Hahne, Emma Webster, Erik Bender, Kenichi Hoshine, Maja Ruznic, Paige Valentine, and Sam Spano. The title of the show is derived from the blended spectrum of Bay Area sunsets and each artist's reinterpretation of light resulting in an array of introspective narratives and concepts.

La Course En Tête” which translates to “race on the mind”, is a reference to the 1974 documentary surrounding the great cyclist Eddy Merckx and also relates to the concept of forcing the pace of a race by sittingin the lead. The exhibition makes use of the iconography and deep history of cycling’s premier race: The Tour De France, to explore a litany of topics, from competition within the art world or any male-
dominated field for that matter, to gendered forms of making and the artist’s relationship with herself.
