THE WORLD OF CHARLES AND RAY EAMES
It has only been in the past couple years — thanks to the rising popularity of mid-century modern furniture — that I even remotely know anything about the Eameses but thankfully The World of Charles and Ray Eames exhibit that just opened at the Oakland Museum of California does a great job in spanning the lives of the design duo from furniture, to film, and fun. (And we all know that I love fun!)
OMCA will be the final stop and only West Coast venue for the traveling exhibition, which seems fitting that it has returned home to California as the Eameses legacy has become synonymous with California and the West Coast ethos. They thought that you should “take your pleasure seriously” and were in a constant state of play as a form of problem solving and a source of inspiration. The exhibit runs from October 13, 2018 - January 17, 2019.
