BEDROOM REFRESH IN A DAY
We've been in our studio for about 4 years now and it was definitely feeling like we were due for a little refresh. Our vintage cast iron bed felt right in the Victorian house in SF we were in before but has seemed a little out of place in our stark white loft. Luckily Floyd Detroit is rolling out a program perfect for those who operate on impulse and need an instant refresh.
Floyd burst on to the scene as a one-up to IKEA offering sleek modern furniture that is packaged with minimal parts and requires no tools to build. Unlike IKEA, their furniture is made to last and is actually easy to assemble. They just held a pop-up in SF to celebrate the launch of their new daily delivery service now available in both NYC and SF. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! It's not JUST in SF (like so many same-day deliveries) but includes the East Bay too. Rejoice! I ordered The Platform Bed in white + the headboard at 10:00am and it was delivered by 5:00!
The assembly really is easy and just entails sliding the metal supports between the three panels and cinching them up with a ratchet strap. Ta-da! No arguing with your partner at IKEA or feel frustrated with assembly. Floyd is key for a happy home!
Two quick tips for a fresh feel is new bedding and rearranging furniture. We added a pop of cheerful color with Coyuchi's Organic Crinkled Percale Minimalist Set in Blush (and as a stalker of Coyuchi's bedding for years I can assure you that this is one of the best deals they have). We also moved the head of the bed to another wall and ditched the rug and truck which feels like it opens up the space more. I'm on the lookout for a matching nightstands and some cool lamps to finish this off but it's definitely feeling new in here again!
Here is a little before and after:
