It’s Spring and that means one thing… BABY GOATS! And it just so happens that Stepladder Creamery has 100 of them on their farm right now. It’s located about 4 hours south outside of the cute little town of Cambria, CA off of Hwy 1 and on the way to Hearst’s Castle. (It’s also 4 hours north from LA so it’s the perfect meeting point for all your friends that have moved.) A group of 11 of us went down for a weekend and stayed in the “Big House” which was larger than I could have imagined. It technically sleeps up to 16 people and has so much space you would never feel cramped there. There’s a game room with pool and ping pong, a hot tub, a front and back patio, the largest kitchen ever… (three sinks! two dishwashers!) It really has it all. Best of all, it’s situated at the top of the property with a view of the ocean in the distance, rolling green hills and orchards, and even some friendly cows that wander out front. We took tour and got to cuddle up on some cute baby goats, eat a whole lot of cheese, and sample anything that was ripe growing in the orchards. Tours range from $20-$35 and give you glimpse and taste into their small-batch cheeses from the herd of Lamancha goats. Get your tickets here or sign up for their cheese club that ships 1.5 lbs of delicious fresh cheese quarterly! The farm also serves as a wedding/event venue. You get the two houses on property, a ceremony space looking out to the ocean, and a dance party in a cute little tin barn for a super affordable rate. Wait… Maybe I should get married here?!?!
Huge thanks to Stepladder Creamery for hosting us. The farm was so beautiful and it was such a unique experience.
